Explore Twenty-Nine New Game Cards from Magic: The Gathering's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Expansion (Including a Commander-Style Deck!)

Everyone's favorite pizza-eating heroes are making their way to the popular trading card game. The well-known trading card game's publisher, Wizards of the Coast, revealed a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration during a exclusive event hosted at NYCC. Is this a radical new set or simply another Universes Beyond marketing move? Let you decide.

Take a look here at everything revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, including some useful context. All items listed here releases on March 6, 2026, except for one item — the Pizza Bundle arrives a couple of weeks after on March 27th.

Magic x TMNT: Main Set Reveals

Before we get into the many special decks and collections available, we’ll examine at all the cards from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set unveiled by the developers. Standard booster packs for the set are set at $6.99 per pack, while Collector Boosters should run $37.99 per pack.

Let’s explore a few shell-shocking details. To begin, there's a new mechanic named Sneak, which is a riff on the pre-existing Ninjutsu ability, where gamers can play big creatures into the game field whenever an attacking creature goes unblocked. The key change here is that Sneak can affect spells that aren’t creatures as well. The designers also used this chance to refine the mechanic a little (Sneak counts as casting, as opposed to Ninjutsu). The original ability is staying, but it's more likely we'll see Sneak in upcoming expansions from now on.

Should we were to return to Kamigawa, it’s possible we’d use Ninjutsu since that plane is it originated and it’s a hallmark to that,” a senior game designer explained. “However on other planes, since the mechanics are smoother and Sneak will be Standard-legal, it’s probable that we'd use Sneak.”

That second variant of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai card, is among four cards with special art designed exclusively for the set by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator the co-creator.

Additionally, should you be surprised by the card text on Turtles Forever, which allows playing game cards that aren't in your deck, many players were. But according to Wizards, it’s now a official card in every format of Magic.

Anyway, here are the extremely bizarre land cards with full art from the TMNT set:

Following Wizards of the Coast's existing guidelines, these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard play. Developers say they were careful to make sure the new cards and gameplay elements meshed well with other Standard sets such as Edge of Eternities.

“I headed the development for 15 months and we knew it would be in standard and which sets were going to be alongside it in standard,” a lead designer says. “We designed to ensure that there's synergy with some of those sets like Edge of Eternities.”

For example, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a blue-red archetype built around artifact cards.

“They mesh together to offer the pieces for a fun Standard deck,” the designer added.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power

Following a decision to create any pre-constructed Commander decks for the Spider-Man set and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, Wizards is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just one precon, but it includes six distinct legendary creatures that can serve as your commander based on how you pair them (five of the cards have a special partner ability called “Character Select” that allows starting with two of them in the command area instead of just one). Take a look below:

The Turtle Power precon is priced at $69.99, although the price may rise due to demand. Sources indicated that it contains 43 new cards altogether, which translates to an additional 37 TMNT-themed game cards in addition to the six legendary creatures pictured earlier. (Doing some rough math, this suggests approximately 20 reprinted cards if we estimate the deck includes 37 land cards.)

How will the Turtles edition of Sol Ring appear? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Standard Bundle (Regular)

Typically, the company is selling a collection. It is priced at $69.99 and contains the listed items:

  • Nine Play Boosters
  • 15 Traditional foil land cards
  • 15 Non-foil basic lands
  • Two Reference cards
  • 1 Foil promo card
  • 1 Large spindown life counter
  • 1 storage box

Pizza Bundle

Here’s a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, mostly in that it comes in what looks like a pizza delivery box. Each Pizza Bundle costs $99.99 and comes with the items below:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • One Collector Booster
  • 25 Non-foil pizza-themed lands
  • 5 Traditional foil pizza basic lands
  • Two Foil pizza bundle promotional cards
  • Two Reference cards
  • One Large spindown life counter
  • One storage box

For those curious about the “pizza bundle promo” is, it’s basically a reprint of an older card featuring brand-new TMNT artwork. The team revealed an example for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual depicting master Splinter adding toppings onto a pizza. In total, there are six distinct pizza promos available.

This special bundle launches a few weeks after the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Bundle

This unique product is designed for a four-person draft and costs $119.99. That will get you:

  • 12 Play Boosters (ideal for a group of four to play draft)
  • One Premium Booster (aka, the prize for winning)
  • Ninety Regular land cards (to build your draft deck)
  • Ten Regular double-sided tokens
  • One Draft insert (a single-page guide to drafting the set)

Turtle Team-Up

Lastly, the developers are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its continued initiative to create Magic products specifically for beginners. Here, the cooperative set is a special set of decks that allow two players join forces to face a “Boss” enemy deck that plays automatically.

The concept is that every Boss card grants unique powers to the creature cards contained in the Boss deck. The Boss automatically plays an additional card each turn, and you’ll start off fighting {one Boss|
