Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a wide array of heroes, and a thrilling plot showcasing divine entities, evil spirits, and sinister influences growing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The third episode ended with a huge suspense moment and revealed the premier party of adventurers who will separate from the main group to embark on their separate journey, apart from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table includes Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Considering an extensive roster, it was clear from the outset that having everyone at one table would be impossible.
That’s why, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, intertwining the personal journeys before branching into three separate parties: Soldiers, Planners, and Questers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
As described by the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for participants who enjoy a traditionally charged battle-oriented gameplay experience where non-violent answers are rare.
Initially, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might seem mismatched, but the events of episode 3 show why these specific adventurers are best suited for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a brutal first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose death kicked off the narrative’s action—used The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, invading the secret base, assaulting Thimble, and stealing all the powerful objects to auction.
The antagonist then settled his liabilities and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, desires revenge.
- The adventurer knows the northern area and cautions that it is a hostile place.
- The strong character and The healer, having defied his family’s wishes to kill Teor and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- However, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could help the party reach areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, Teor swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now follow him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are wanted by the authorities that rule Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making remaining behind too risky:
- Thimble and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and Wicander turned against the influential house and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This means them little choice but to head to the northern region in pursuit of the antagonist.
What’s Next?
From the latest episode’s follow-up content, we discover that the Soldiers table will not appear next week, leaving the rest of the players to assemble the Questers and Strategists groups.
