Tottenham had before “firmly declined” an informal expression of interest from a consortium spearheaded by Brooklyn Earick last month and maintained the club was unavailable for purchase.
Yet UK takeover and merger rules dictated that, having had an initial approach turned down, Earick's consortium needed to make an offer by 24 October or announce they would not proceed.
Official word of the determination was issued in a announcement released by Spurs to the financial markets, confirming the team is “not in an takeover phase.”
He shared an picture of the announcement on social media, stating: “I've had a honor discussing with the club and the Lewis family's agents over the past few months.
“I have high regard for the club, its management, and its followers, and desire continued achievements.”
The club's board expressed gratitude to the group for its “constructive approach” in negotiations and for “acknowledging the definitive view” of the shareholders that the club is not for sale.
Earick is a one-time music presenter who also worked in spacecraft research for NASA before founding Redacted RnD, which focuses on technology, media, sport and entertainment.
Earick's proposal was the third expression of interest rejected by the team's directors since the abrupt resignation of top executive Levy in the fall.
Earlier in September, the team rejected approaches from ex-Newcastle investor the financier's PCP International and a group led by Roger Kennedy and Ng through the holding company.
The former chairman and his relatives hold about thirty percent of Enic Sports & Developments Holdings Ltd – which has an almost 87% interest in the club.
Levy was the Premier League's top-tenured leader and is believed to have earned over ÂŁ50 million during his almost quarter of a century in the position.
But he was also the focus of ongoing dissent by Tottenham supporters, particularly last season as domestic league results turned out below expectations.
The north London club won their initial silverware in nearly two decades when they overcame the Red Devils in May's continental decider.
